Holga Time!

I’ve burned through 5 rolls of film with my new Holga 135. The Holga camera is cheap and has a meniscus lens, the results are natural vignetting, very cool streaks of light and the vintage feel I’ve been looking for.

Morning Light

Have you considered the morning light the sun brings? What an amazing thing. How often do we wake in the morning and begin our busy days without considering the magnificence of the rising sun?  I’ve done it more than I care to admit, but I’m taking more time lately to intentionally stop whatever I’m doing – and just appreciate the fact that I serve a God who created the earth, heavens and humanity – and the sun! It makes me feel pretty small, and it’s humbling.

part time gig, the 4th, and hmb

With God guiding my steps…I landed a part time gig last week. I will be doing event photography and web design for the Roberts Family Development Center in Sacramento. I volunteered at the RFDC while I worked at Intel, and I’m excited to now have the opportunity to do something I love, working for great people and a great cause….empowering families. Busy week ahead with the move to Sacramento and the Giants game on Wednesday.  It was great to be with family and friends yesterday for the 4th. On the 3rd, we took the boys to HMB and had a very cool, mellow day.

After two fun days up at the lake; today was Aidan’s first day of summer break, and it was good to be home with him. We played basketball; had lunch together, took his bike to the shop for a brake repair, followed by a quick stop at the hardware store for some paint….it was a full day. I have an interview Wednesday at the church and an exam on Saturday for a county job. God is mighty today and everyday….resting in His truth is giving me peace and courage.
